mckenzieI am a bioarchaeologist in the Department of Anthropology, Economics & Political Science at MacEwan University.

My general research interests are concerned with the processes of culture change among prehistoric boreal and sub-boreal hunter-gatherers, mortuary practices, intentional cranial modification, and the archaeology of Eastern Siberia & the Russian Far East.  Currently, I have three major research projects ongoing (see link above).

In Summer 2013, through MacEwan University in collaboration with the Baikal-Hokkaido Archaeology Project and the Advanced Core Research Centre for the History of Human Ecology in the North, I took 15 students to Rebun Island, Japan for a field school in archaeological research methods.
