I work hard to help build the practice of meaningful and value-adding Human Resource Management in our local workplaces.
My contributions are mostly made via academic research, teaching, and service, but also by offering unique perspectives and learning opportunities @ HrLabs.
I joined the School of Business at MacEwan University in 2015, and presently hold the rank of Assistant Professor. I came to the School with 15 years of direct industry experience in Human Resource Management, including specializations in HR Analytics, HR Community Building, and HR Education / Professionals Skills Training. I actively maintain my CHRP designation, which I first attained in 2005.
I earned my PhD in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations in 2008 from the University of Alberta. I have been active in scholarly and industrial research since 2002, and have largely shared this work via conference presentations and corporate internal papers.
My teaching style is informed by a decade of general experience as a sessional instructor (Business) with University of Alberta and University of Lethbridge. I also work diligently to fulfill expectations of MacEwan University’s vision to graduate students with education and confidence to navigate the global workforce and enhance their local communities.
